January 27, 2003 - Minister Jim Wilson to Officially Open Northern Ontario's Emerging Technologies 2003: The e-Conference - Contact North/Contact Nord, Northern Ontario's Distance Education & Training Network, is pleased to announce that the Honourable Jim Wilson, Ontario's Minister of Northern Development and Mines and Chair of the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation, will officially open its Emerging Technologies 2003: The e-conference in Thunder Bay.

February 17, 2003 - Emerging Technologies 2003: The e-Conference - Northern Ontario's Premiere Technology Event Coming to Thunder Bay on Wednesday, February 26 and Thursday, February 27 - Over the course of this 2-day conference, participants will discover the latest developments and trends in e-health, e-learning, e-government, and e-commerce.

February 25, 2003 - Emerging Technologies 2003: The e-Conference Being Held in Thunder Bay Attracts Hundreds From Across Ontario - Over 200 participants from Northwestern Ontario and other parts of the province will be gathered for a wide variety of briefings by Canada's leading experts, showcases of state-of-the-art technologies, and focused seminars and workshops at Contact North/Contact Nord's Emerging Technologies 2003: The e-conference.

March 13, 2003 - Contact North/ Contact Nord Prepares for Another Major Increase in Enrolment This Fall - Current projections for daytime classes point to a 43% increase for Fall 2003 in the number of courses to be offered by Northern Ontario's colleges, universities and school boards via the Contact North/ Contact Nord Network.

March 18, 2003 - Contact North/Contact Nord Releases Spring/Summer 2003 Bridging the North Course List - Bridging the North, Contact North/Contact Nord's reference list of programs and courses delivered on our Network, is now available to Northern Ontario residents.

March 21, 2003 - Contact North/Contact Nord Plays National Leadership Role in e-Learning - Contact North/Contact Nord, Northern Ontario’s Distance Education & Training Network, continues its leadership role in the education and training sector by the hosting a first-of-its-kind ‘think tank’ on e-learning in Canada.

April 8, 2003 - Contact North/Contact Nord Chairs First International ‘Think Tank’ on e-Learning - Contact North/Contact Nord, Northern Ontario’s Distance Education & Training Network, organized and hosted the first international Roundtable on e-Learning on March 25 and 26, 2003, in Toronto.

April 29, 2003 - Eves Government Invest $4 Million to Enhance Distance Education in Northern Ontario - Toronto - The Ernie Eves government is enhancing leading edge distance education opportunities by investing more than $4 million to improve the infrastructure provinding services to more than 100 small and remote communities in Northern Ontario.

May 23, 2003 - Contact North/ Contact Nord Part of Group of Experts to Advise on National Funding Priorities for Advanced Videoconferencing and Collaborative Technologies - Contact North/Contact Nord has been invited to join a group of leading researchers and experts from post-secondary institutions, research centres and businesses to advise CANARIE (Canada's advanced Internet development organization) on future funding options for advanced videoconferencing and collaborative technologies.

July 23, 2003 - Contact North/Contact Nord Part of International Research on e-Learning - As a follow-up to initiating and chairing Canada's first international "think tank" on e-learning, the Northern Ontario's Distance Education & Training Network is contributin to a major international research initiative on broadband access to e-learning.

August 7, 2003 - Contact North/Contact Nord Offers Even More This Fall - Bridging the North, Contact North/Contact Nord's calendar of programs and courses delivered on our Network, is now available to Northern Ontario residents.

September 2, 2003 - Contact North/Contact Nord, one of the Key Leaders in Higher Education Invited by Microsoft to Special Symposium at Microsoft World Headquarters - Maxim Jean-Louis, President - Chief Executive Officer of Contact North/Contact Nord, will join key experts and higher education leaders in ''Unlocking the Potential of Gaming Technology''.

September 25, 2003 - Sudbury Business and Education Leaders Elected to Board of Directors of Contact North/Contact Nord - Doug Smith, Chair of the Board of Directors of Contact North/Contact Nord, is pleased to announce the election of three Sudbury business and education leaders to the Board of Directors: Louise d'Amour, Normand Forest and Geoffrey Lougheed.

November 3, 2003 - Contact North/Contact Nord President and CEO, Maxim Jean-Louis, Helped Develop Canada's Immigration Strategic Framework Released Today by Minister Denis Coderre  - Mr. Maxim Jean-Louis was one of the eight community representatives from the National Citizenship and Immigration Canada - Francophone Minorities Steering Committee.
