January 9, 2002 - New Partnership Brings Distance Education & Training to Huntville - Contact North/Contact Nord and the Town of Huntsville team up to offer education, training and economic development opportunities to the community.

February 11, 2002 - Contact North/Contact Nord to Share its expertise in Distance Education and Training with its First Nations Partners - Contact North/Contact Nord’s Vice-President and Chief Information Officer, Wayne Sajna Hebert, will explore with First Nation leaders how to jointly harness distance education and training to support economic development in Northern Ontario’s First Nations communities at the First Nations Connect Conference in Thunder Bay, February 11-14, 2002.

March 15, 2002 - Residents of Mahta Mohawk First Nation and Area Will Have Access to Educational & Training Opportunities via Contact North/Contact Nord's Audioconferencing and Audiographics Network. - Contact North/Contact Nord is pleased to announce the opening of a new participating centre in Wahta Mohawk First Nation which is situated in Bala, Ontario.

March 21, 2002 - Contact North/Contact Nord President & CEO, Maxim Jean-Louis, Appointed to National Citizenship and Immigration Canada - Francophone Minorities Steering Committee - He is one of eight community representatives from all regions of Canada appointed to this newly established committee.

March 26, 2002 - Contact North/Contact Nord Links South America and Northern Ontario via Videoconferencing - As part of the first Virtual Trade Mission (VTM) between Northern Ontario and Santiago, Chile, Contact North/Contact Nord and its strategic private sector partner, ADCOM Videoconferencing, welcomed the delegates to the VTM with Santiago, Chile, on Tuesday, March 26, 2002, at its Northeast headquarters.

April 8, 2002 - Contact North/Contact Nord President and CEO Appointed to the Chair of Management Board's Advisory Council on e-Government in Ontario - Maxim Jean-Louis, President and Chief Executive Officer of Contact North/Contact Nord, has been appointed by the Honourable David Tsubouchi to the Management Board’s Advisory Council on e-Government.

April 19, 2002 - Contact North/Contact Nord and the Greater Sudbury Chamber of Commerce to Host Ed Kilroy, President and CEO of IBM Canada Ltd. - As part of its ongoing Emerging Technologies Series, Contact North/Contact Nord, in partnership with the Greater Sudbury Chamber of Commerce, is proud to host Ed Kilroy, President and Chief Executive Officer of IBM Canada Ltd. at a luncheon on Monday, May 6, 2002. M. Kilroy will offer his insights on the role of information technology in the business, health and education fields.

April 22, 2002 - e-learning Magazine Recognizes Contact North/Contact Nord Staff as North American e-learning Champion - Dr. Rory McGreal, a former staff member of Contact North/Contact Nord who is currently the Associate Vice-President of Research at Athabasca University, has been recognized as an e-learning champion by e-learning Magazine, a publication dedicated to technology-enabled education and training.

May 29, 2002 - THUNDER BAY STUDENTS EARN AN MBA DEGREE THROUGH DISTANCE LEARNING A Laurentian University, Lakehead University and Contact North/Contact Nord partnership provides unique learning opportunity - Spring 2002 will see four Thunder Bay professionals step up to the podium to receive their MBA degrees.

August 14, 2002 - Contact North/Contact Nord Invited to Microsoft's CAN>WIN 2002 Summit on Canadian Innovation and Competitiveness - Maxim Jean-Louis, President and CEO of Contact North/Contact Nord, will join a select group of 250 executives to the second Microsoft's CAN>WIN Summit on Canadian Innovation and Competitiveness, to be held August 20 at Toronto's York Event Theatre.

September 10, 2002 - Canada's First International Adult Learner's Week - This week marks the first Canadian celebration of International Adult Learner's Week, from September 8 to 14.

September 18, 2002 - The 2002 Economic Luncheon Address - Contact North/Contact Nord, in partnership with the Toronto-Dominion Bank Financial Group, will host "The 2002 Economic Luncheon Address" featuring TD Bank Financial Group's Senior Vice-President & Chief Economist, Mr. Don Drummond, on Thursday, October 17, 2002.

November 11, 2002 - Contact North/Contact Nord to Participate in National Summit on Innovation and Learning -  Maxim Jean-Louis, President and Chief Executive Officer of Contact North/Contact Nord, has been invited by the Honourable Allan Rock, Minister of Industry and the Honourable Jane Stewart, Minister of Human Resources – Development Canada, to participate in the Government of Canada’s National Summit on Innovation and Learning, to be held November 18 and 19, 2002, at Toronto’s Westin Harbour Castle.

December 3, 2002 - ET Is Coming to Northern Ontario!!  - Contact North/Contact Nord, Northern Ontario's Distance Education & Training Network, is pleased to announce that it will be hosting the next session of its popular Emerging Technologies Conference Series in Thunder Bay on February 26 and 27, 2003.

December 4, 2002 - Contact North/Contact Nord Enrolment Reaches Record High! - Contact North/Contact Nord, Northern Ontario's Distance Education & Training Network, today reported its highest enrolment ever with an impressive 15% growth in registrations in 2001-2002 on the heels of a record growth of 12% in 2000-2001.
