The Independent Learning Centre (ILC), is one of TVOntario's unique educational services. The ILC provides a distance education program, in English and in French, for Ontario residents who want to earn secondary school diploma credits, upgrade basic skills, or study for personal development. You can enrol at any time and have one year from the date of enrolment to complete these correspondence courses. There is a small administration fee for each course.

The GED test is actually a set of five tests in the core high school curriculum areas. The tests measure the important knowledge and skills usually acquired during a regular high school program of study. Successful candidates receive an Ontario High School Equivalency Certificate.

In Ontario. the GED Testing Program is administered by TVOntario's ILC. Information, application forms, and test schedules can be obtained at your local Contact North/Contact Nord Access Centre.
