Debby Sefton is Vice-President, Northwest Region, Contact North/Contact Nord, Northern Ontario’s Distance Education & Training Network.

Debby has worked with Contact North/Contact Nord for more than twelve years in a variety of management positions. An experienced administrator and specialist in distance education management, Debby was appointed Vice-President in August 2000. Prior to this appointment, she served as Director, Northwest Region, Manager of Operations and Client Services, and Administrative Services Officer.

In addition to her responsibilities as Vice-President, Debby manages the administrative side of the Network and is responsible for human resources and financial operations. Debby represents Contact North/Contact Nord on the Board of Directors of 807 North Network.

Over the course of her twelve years with Northern Ontario’s Distance Education & Training Network, Debby has worked hard to successfully expand the Network’s reach into more than 100 small and remote communities across Northern Ontario. She has worked with communities throughout Northwestern Ontario to identify the needs of learners and develop partnerships to expand access to education and training opportunities.

On the administration side, Debby has established an efficient and effective administrative structure for Contact North/Contact Nord that ensures that the Network focuses maximum resources on the needs of our clients and educational partners.

A lifelong learner, Debby has completed a Queen’s University finance course for executives and continues to upgrade her skills and knowledge through a variety of courses.

Debby makes her home in Thunder Bay and is a member of the Port Arthur Rotary Club.
